| Course Description: | After a brief review of Motivational Interviewing (M.I.) theory, class will proceed to an advanced training level. It will include discussion of the use of M.I. - what has and has not worked, assessing participant's own personal styles, and deepening skills in working with resistance and client ambivalence. The day will include case studies, role playing, and practice at an advanced level. Jonnae Tillman has two degrees in Psychology from Seattle University and has been practicing in public health for over 15 years. For the past 11 years, she has worked with health care professionals in Snohomish County and Snohomish Health District. M.I. training has been her focus for the past 7 years. Jonnae consults throughout western Washington with hospitals, clinics, health districts and private businesses. Prerequisite: Participants MUST HAVE taken M.I. Levels I and II. Participants will be on their own for lunch. |
