| Course Description: | Tired of those nightmare meetings? Whether you are facilitating a large community session or a staff meeting, great facilitation skills are key. This engaging workshop provides both novice and experienced facilitators the tools they need to run successful meetings—every time! Administrators, health educators, and prevention professionals are often asked to form advisory boards, develop community coalitions, and organize teams of paid and volunteer staff. “Making Meetings Work” teaches techniques and strategies to ensure that meetings are effective and move us closer to our short and long term goals. Specific examples related to tobacco program work will be a significant part of this workshop. Presenter Guila Muir is a well-known facilitator and educator with strong roots in prevention. In this lively workshop, Guila will share “facilitation tips from the pros” to help prevent nightmare meetings for the rest of your professional career. Lunch will be provided. |
