Course Title: Helping Teens Stop Using Tobacco (TAP) & Intervening with Teen Tobacco Users (TEG)
Course Description: This is a two-day course taking place on Wednesday & Thursday, April 29 & 30 from 8:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. These two days will provide participants with the tools to implement Intervening with Teen Tobacco Users (TEG), an 8-session, educational program that helps adolescents in grades 7-12 understand the negative consequences of tobacco use, and Helping Teens Stop Using Tobacco (TAP), an 8-session voluntary cessation program. Both are research-based teen tobacco intervention and cessation programs, as well as tools for engaging all youth in tobacco prevention. All participants will receive a copy of the TAP and TEG Facilitator Guides, a Student Workbook, and additional reference materials. Lunch will be provided.

Intended Audience: This training is primarily intended for individuals working in tobacco prevention and control, either as contractors of the Washington State Department of Health Tobacco Prevention and Control Program, or key stakeholders and partners, including although not necessarily limited to, school and community partner organizations, prevention/intervention staff, student assistance professionals, and community members who work with youth and are concerned with tobacco prevention and control.
